Mom’s Fudge Recipe
2 cups Sugar
2/3 Cups Milk
2 Tablespoons Corn Syrup
1 1/2 Squares Chocolate
2 Tablespoons Butter
1 teaspoon Vanilla
1 Cup Walnuts Optional
Put Sugar, milk, syrup and chocolate into
saucepan and stir until sugar is dissolved.
Cook slowly until mixture forms a soft ball. Remove from fire, and add butter. Cool until lukewarm; add vanilla and beat
until thick add Walnuts pour into greased pan.

Mom's Honeymoon Waffle Recipe
(Doubled)
2 Cups sifted flour
5 teaspoons Baking Powder
1 1/4 Cup Milk
4 Eggs
2 teaspoon Salt
8 Tablespoons Butter (Cube)
Add milk to well beaten egg yolks. Sift dry ingredients together, then add
liquid. Add melted butter. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour enough batter on grids to come within
one inch of edge.
This was the first breakfast Mom made for Dad
when they got married. And she made
these waffles almost every Sunday for the family. They were so good and I made them for Henry after
we were married.
Grandma Wilcox's Taffy Recipe
2 Cups Sugar
3/4 Cups Water
Butter size of Egg
2 Tablespoons Vinegar
1 teaspoon Vanilla
Add butter, vinegar when it comes to boil. Boil till hard ball forms in cold water then
add Vanilla.
Richard (Dick) and I can both remember Grandma making her Taffy out on
the back porch. It was cool out there
and she had a big nail just to help her pull the Taffy. Her Taffy was so good;
I've never much cared for any other.
Store bought just isn't the same.
